Heart Your Smile – Celebrating our profession

This article aims to raise awareness of Heart Your Smile; a fantastic cause and one of the most exciting things happening in our field.

Heart Your Smile is a registered charity aiming to change the public’s perception of Dentistry, and wants to reinstate the dental team’s position as trusted members of the local community.

Unfortunately, Dentistry does not enjoy the best type of press. Many people associate dentists with a negative image; they think we’re butchers! It explains why dental anxiety and dental phobia are not uncommon.

It’s time to change this and show everyone what we a really are – a caring profession.

Heart Your Smile will go public in the near future, but for now we are raising awareness among the dental profession – and seeing as dental students are the future of Dentistry, it’s important that you get involved.

The Heart your Smile campaign is not going to be using old and familiar methods of reaching out to the public. The aim is to use a different approach and try and connect with the public by using humour, powerful visuals and collective effort. Once the campaign has enough professional support, the public will be involved.
